Sumit Batra

Sumit Batra is a legal professional based in New Delhi. After graduating in law in 2007, he began his career at Ernst & Young. In 2009, he transitioned to practicing law at the bar in New Delhi. He further enhanced his qualifications by completing an LLM in International & Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham, UK. Throughout his career, Sumit has maintained a strong association with our firm, serving as a preferred arguing counsel in Delhi.

With over 15 years of litigation experience, Sumit has appeared before various esteemed courts and tribunals including the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble High Courts across the country, Hon’ble National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal, Hon’ble Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), Hon’ble Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), and other tax authorities. His areas of expertise encompass Taxation, Commercial disputes, Corporate Law, and Civil Litigation. Currently, he is on the panels of several government bodies such as the Government of NCT of Delhi and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Sumit has also represented the State of Haryana in the Supreme Court and provided advisory services to the Service Tax Department as a Private Expert and PFC Consulting Limited.

Furthermore, Sumit actively participates as a member of The Global Legal Alliance (‘GLA’), an international platform for legal professionals headquartered in Hong Kong and Beijing. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London.
