Shailaja is a double graduate, having completed her Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science and then the Law. She hails from a family of lawyers, being a third-generation lawyer herself.
After Shailaja completed her law, she commenced her
career with counsel practice, at the Chambers of a
Senior Counsel, moving on to firm practice, making
Partner at M/s. Manilal Kher Ambalal & Company.
She joined the team at India Law Alliance in 2012 and
is an Indirect Tax law expert.
Shailaja is known to be supportive of her colleagues
and forthcoming when it comes to assisting and
mentoring her juniors. She likes to lead from the front
and believes in teamwork. Her advice to budding
lawyers is, do not always rely on the internet, pick up
a book to read your judgments and the law. Shailaja
enjoys reading non-fiction literature. She also
partakes in community service work. She is partial to
causes revolving around children and animals.
